BN can't cheat in the election, says Najib

Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak today rebutted allegations that BN would cheat in the 14th general election.
Speaking at a gathering of youths today, he said if cheating was possible, the BN would not have lost several states to the opposition.
"We can't cheat because the election process is very strict. If we had cheated, there wouldn't be a (Harapan-led) Selangor government now and BN would not have lost Selangor, Penang and Kelantan.
"We don't cheat, we form the government based on the people's votes," Najib told a gathering in Sungai Pelek Selangor in conjunction with the Hari Gerakan Belia 4B Malaysia and Karnival Sukan Muhibah 2018.

In his speech, he also took a swipe at former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad (photo), but only referred to him as a "former leader who wants to make a comeback" without naming him.
Unlike Mahathir, Najib said he had taken a different approach whereby he engages the youths.
"I chose to do Transformasi Nasional 2050 (TN5) which will be put together based on feedback from the youths.
"Since the TN50 dialogue started last year, we have collected some 80,000 aspirations from young people," he said.
Najib added that while Mahathir had used the Internal Security Act 1960 (ISA) to detain dissidents such as through Operasi Lalang, he had instead moved to abolish the draconian law.
"I give young people room to voice out. In the past, you would face ISA and Ops Lalang if you were to criticise (the government)," he said.- Mkini
