HAVE SOME SHAME, RESIGN TO SAVE MACC’S DIGNITY – MP TELLS ‘EXTRAMARITAL AFFAIR’ DZULKIFLI

“COMPROMISED” Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission chief Dzulkifli Ahmad has been urged by an MP to step down.
“The alleged extramarital affair (involving Dzulkifli) definitely compromises his ability to carry out his job properly  ,” said Bandar Kuching MP Chong Chieng Jen, refering to a three-minute video that surfaced online recently, alleging a scandal between Dzulkifli and a married woman.
The video allegedly featured Dzulkifli and the woman on a romantic retreat in Bali, Indonesia.
It also alleged that the woman had divorced her husband on September 28 at the Ulu Klang lower shariah court due to the alleged affair.
“Have dignity and respect for the position. Resign.
Chong also lambasted ministers who backed Dzulkifli remaining in the post.
“It’s very uncalled for,” he said, in an apparent reference to statements made by Communications and Multimedia Minister Salleh Said Keruak, who said Dzulkifli should remain steadfast and not succumb to underhanded tactics to undermine him.
Salleh said Dzulkifli was being attacked by those who could not “use” him.
The head of the anti-graft agency broke his silence on the alleged extramarital affair yesterday, saying the “dirty tactics” were aimed at sidetracking him from the fight against corruption.
He told the government-controlled Tv3 station that the attacks were due to MACC’s aggressive approach in tackling cases of corruption and abuse of power since early this year.
“These dirty tactics are meant to smear my image and reputation as MACC commissioner, and to bring down the credibility of MACC in our efforts to ensure that this country is free from corruption and abuse of power.”
However, he did not not say if the contents of the video were true.
Police are investigating the video following a report lodged by a sales executive.
The force is investigating the case under Section 498 of Penal Code, which refers to the enticing of a married woman with the intent of having illicit intercourse.
