PD RAPE SHOCKER: UNDER WHAT CARPET WILL UMNO SWEEP THE LATEST MUSLIM SEX SCANDAL

PD RAPE SHOCKER: UNDER WHAT CARPET WILL UMNO SWEEP THE LATEST MUSLIM SEX SCANDAL
It is a story that leaves one seething with rage, but it also makes one confused and extremely disappointed that the religious bodies and politicians, continue to fail young children, especially the girls.
On Nov 25, it was reported that police arrested a man, in Port Dickson, Negri Sembilan, for allegedly raping his 11-year-old sister-in-law, and forcing his 14-year-old wife to record his depravity.
The video, which was believed to have been made by the rapist, to sell to others, was posted on Whatsapp. The rapist is a 35-year-old unemployed man who wanted to earn some easy money. He persuaded his wife, who is allegedly mentally challenged, to record the sexual act.
The rape allegedly occurred in the victim's house, in Telok Kemang, near Port Dickson. The victim's father, on hearing about the film, questioned his daughter and was told she had been raped, several times, by her "brother-in-law", the previous month.
Why do our religious leaders and politicians pretend that the greatest threat to Islam is LGBT, or liberal Muslims, or western influence? This alleged rapist must have laughed at the impotence of those who should protect our children, but fail to do so, in the name of religion and the protection of Malay sensitivities.
Although the race and religion of the rapist or his victim is not stated, the following laws, suggest that they are Malay and Muslim. The law in Malaysia states that the legal minimum age for marriage is 18, but it is 16 for Muslim girls. Those aged under 16 can marry with the consent of the Syariah Court. Non-Muslims who are aged 16-18 can marry with the authorisation of the chief minister or mentri besar.
When will the authorities protect our vulnerable children? It is alleged that this man had raped the 14-year-old, and then married her to prevent shame falling on her family, and also to avoid a prosecution for statutory rape.
Did the rapist suggest the marriage, or did the parents of the 14-year-old think this was an easy way out of their predicament? Did they then hope that the rapist would take care of her, and relieve them, of the responsibility of looking after her?
Did the parents realise that the unemployed man is unlikely to care for their child? If he cannot show responsible behaviour, how can he possibly think of birth control, in which case, what sort of a family would he raise?
Is he now going to marry the 11-year-old?
It is a vicious circle because this man, will eventually tire of his wife(s) and seek younger pastures. He will leave his wife, and any children of their union. What will become of them? It is a circle which begets more poverty and ignorance.
As it is, the man just took advantage of his wife' younger sister, and raped her. It is a story in which there is no happy ending.
The parents may have thought that they were doing their mentally challenged child a favour, by making the rapist marry her. Now they must regret that their younger daughter has now been raped.
Will our politicians tighten the laws and commit these child rapists to long jail sentences? Or, are we going to treat child rapists with the same kid gloves used on the National Tenpin bowler, Noor Afizal Azizan, who avoided a prison sentence for statutory rape.
In 2009, Noor Afizal was 18 years old, when he raped his 13-year-old girlfriend, in a hotel room, in Ayer Keroh. He was guilty of committing statutory rape (with or without the girl’s consent).
Will our politicians and religious leaders ever learn, or will children continue to suffer and be raped, because the adults, and law-makers, who have been entrusted with the responsibility of ensuring their safety, prevaricate and kow-tow to religious sentiments?
Rape victims seem to be pawns, in the game of religious and political domination, used to assuage the lust of those who claim that certain sexual pleasures are their "religious right".
Brutality against women and children, including domestic violence and rape, is a serious problem in Malaysia. Children and women need to feel safe, but our track record in dealing with rape shows that women and children, get the raw end of the deal. Like charity, preventing child sexual abuse, begins at home. - http://theantdaily.com/
